Work in Progress

In the last month, I have had a lot of time on my hands and have used that time to start on a few commissions. This has helped me continue working on artwork after graduation college. I’m trying many different ways to stay productive and continuing to make things. Right now I am doing a commission piece that I received from someone that went to my graduation and loved one of the pieces that had already been sold. It’s interesting rethinking a piece I have already completed. I can change the composition to something slightly different and change the colors to make it new. But what is really interesting is working on something I have already done and making it even better, fixing or doing something better than the first time. I love seeing it come to life. I have learned a lot through this process and while I liked making something similar to something I have already done, I don’t think I will do this much in the future. I often repeat or reuse ideas but this was a little too much for me. I probably would have wanted to do something a little more different.

In the images below, you can see my progress through the last few weeks and though I am not done, I am getting pretty close and I am starting the incline after the slope of the U (which I talk about in my previous post) and my motivation is getting closer and closer together. I foresee that I will finish this drawing within the next couple of days, which is exciting.

Above is my first session of drawing and the picture below is where I am now, four or five sessions later.

I am able to continue making art and pursuing my passion because of the support of others, so thank you.
